Join us for a full week of welcome events starting Monday, August 31, 2026. Meet your colleagues and faculty, and learn all about being a BEd student in the Schulich School of Education. The week will include a mix of classes, guest speakers, and welcome activities, all of which are mandatory.

Online Learning Modules
Students entering the Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University will be automatically enrolled in a Summer Orientation Module on Blackboard Learn. These modules are designed to help you navigate your student accounts, fee payment and introduce you to the student supports and services offered throughout your academic journey. These modules can be completed at your own pace, and you have access to them throughout the year. Please follow these instructions for Accessing your Lakers Summer Orientation Modules once you receive the email that you have been enrolled.
NUSU
The Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) is your student-driven organization dedicated to enhancing your university experience through advocacy, engagement, and support. The NUSU Executive Committee leads NUSU as a whole, and is composed entirely of Nipissing University students. NUSU is in charge of your health and dental plan, the fun-filled Orientation Week (lovingly called OWLS week), clubs and societies on campus, your student emergency food bank, and much more. Practicum Information
Starting in July you will begin to receive emails from the Practicum Office that will provide further information to help you prepare for practicum. This may include vital instructions pertaining to your assigned school board. It is crucial that Teacher Candidates review their Nipissing email throughout the summer for any notifications meant to assist with practicum preparations. A reminder that important practicum documents are due Monday, September 14, 2026. You are encouraged to review the BEd schedule to help you plan better for your time both on-campus and in practicum.

New to Nipissing? An e-mail introducing you to your new Nipissing University e-mail account will be sent to you shortly. You can access your account by logging into MyNipissing and clicking Check Your E-mail. This Nipissing University outlook account will be our main method of communicating with you from then on. Please check it regularly.
