Under the mandate of the Provost & Vice-President Academic and Research, the Office of Research Services provides support and assistance to researchers and administrators and encourages a balanced synergy between the teaching, scholarly and service activities of faculty members.

The Research Committee (RC) is a standing committee that was established to provide advice to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and Research on all matters related to research. The Research Committee is a Senate Committee.

The cost of research includes both direct and indirect costs. Indirect costs include maintaining the research space and libraries; cost of utilities for that space; management and administration of research, finances, regulatory requirements and compliance; and liability insurance amongst other costs. It is difficult to assign these indirect costs to specific projects since the costs are shared across projects.

To be eligible for the Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP), all participating institutions are required to clearly publish on their public facing websites information stipulated by the program to ensure Public Accountability and Transparency in the management of their chair allocations.

The Office of Research Services assists researchers in the administration and use of grants funds from all sources. It is the researcher’s responsibilities to know the various guidelines governing the use of funds and for expense reimbursement.

The Library is interested in supporting institutional research. Please contact the appropriate liaison librarian or library administrator to discuss your research requirements. They are most willing to work with you and seek your input into collection development.
