Nipissing University’s annual NU360 Speaker Night brought together students, faculty, and community members on March 4, 2025, at the NUSU Student Centre for an evening of inspiration and innovation. Nipissing University proudly recognized 25 exceptional students at the 2025 Dave Marshall Leadership Awards, held at the NUSU Student Centre. The annual awards celebrate students who have made significant contributions to the university and the broader community through their leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to service.

Nipissing University announced the receipt of a $1 million donation from The Peacock Family Foundation in support of student research, Indigenous initiatives, and Rare Dementia Support Canada (RDS Canada). Drs. John and Adrienne Peacock, who received honorary doctorates from Nipissing in 2023, are passionate advocates for post-secondary education across Canada and have made this gift to enhance opportunities for students and faculty at the University.

Dr. Patrick Maher, a professor in Nipissing University’s School of Physical and Health Education, has been named a research fellow under the University of the Arctic (UArctic) and Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) initiative. This initiative focuses on enhancing understanding and mitigating the risks associated with maritime activities in the Arctic.

Nipissing University has received a $2 million gift from The Joyce Family Foundation to establish an endowed bursary fund that will provide crucial financial support for students who face socio-economic barriers to pursuing post-secondary education.

NU nursing students have proven they are among the best in the province, taking home the top prize at the highly anticipated 2025 Ontario Nursing Games. Hosted by the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, the event brought together nursing students from across Ontario for a day of academic, simulation, and athletic challenges.
