Nipissing University’s annual Homecoming Weekend is set to take place this weekend, September 20 - 22, and the whole community is invited to take part. Homecoming 2024 promises a packed schedule of activities and opportunities for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community to reconnect and celebrate what it means to be a Laker.

Nipissing University officially installed award-winning broadcaster and author Dr. Scott Russell as its fifth Chancellor in a special ceremony held today at the NUSU Student Centre. As Chancellor, Dr. Russell will serve as the ceremonial head of the institution, presiding over Convocation and acting as a key advocate and ambassador for Nipissing and its mission.

Whether it’s providing expert commentary, leading groundbreaking research, or making a difference in the community, our students, faculty, staff and alumni are making headlines.

Eric Yung graduated from Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2007 and a Bachelor of Education in 2009. Initially recruited by Nipissing to play soccer, Yung ended up becoming a two-sport athlete, playing on both the Lakers soccer and volleyball teams.

As 2023 comes to a close, I wanted to share a moment of gratitude and a humble thank you for your continued engagement with the University. Here at Nipissing, we have a lot to be proud of, and we couldn’t do the work we do without the engagement of our incredible community. 2023 presented us with many reasons to connect, and we look forward to continuing the conversation in 2024 and beyond.
